Its truly mind blowing the first time you do that. But when you turn it up to about noon on the master it just goes to the next level. The best thing about this amp is that you can get wonderful distortion at bedroom volumes. Huge tone, massively versatile with all the filtering and tone stack options (its basically capable of every vintage Vox tone from TB to Bass). Mine are just starting to die (2008) and the amp has lost a lot of bite over the last couple of years. Also I would absolutely budget for changing the filter caps if its 10+ years old. Most come used with wrecked GZ34 tubes do to people using the standby switch (don't). Built very very solidly (baltic birch ply cabinet, huge robust chassis, no tube sockets on the PCB etc) and needs minimal maintenance.
